![]() We plan to hit even more locales as we continue testing. We’ve taken the Daylite Sling to beaches, trails, shopping districts, grocery stores (one of which was similar enough to a farmers’ market) and would’ve taken it to school if any of us were students. Not all, but some is nice:Įxternal pockets for coin purse/commuter passĮDIT: Editing formatting to make bullet points appear properly.Osprey advertises the Daylite Sling is ideal for most occasions-school, grocery shopping, farmers’ markets, festivals, beaches, hikes, and so on.īeing the thorough gear testers that we are, we decided to test as many of those claims as possible in two weeks. So that being said, does anyone have recommendations for a One Bag? I'm kind of looking for these points. I simply tucked the zipper pull into the end of the zipper. This probably happens only in a minority of people, by chance, but it's annoying. The laptop compartment zipper is perfectly placed to dig right into my should blade. It's not exactly comfortable, especially in hot and humid environments. Yes, there is one giant cavernous exterior pocket, but because everything in the bag falls to the bottom, stuff gets jammed easily and it's really hard to find what you're looking for. Coin purse? Commuter pass? Water bottle? Straps for your jacket? Gotta bring your own. I don't think you should have to spend more on accessories after spending that kind of money- it should just work. You usually need to buy even more stuff to make use of the space. The interior is basically one giant cavernous space. All waterproofing measures require some kind of maintenance.Įverything falls to the bottom. This is not unique to Go Ruck, it happens to all bags. But, like all waterproofing, it will (after several years) wear off. The bag is not waterproof but heavily water-resistant. You can't have both indestructibility and lightweight materials. However, this is a natural consequence of its durability. The bag itself is pretty heavy for its capacity. ![]() ![]() The exterior-accessible laptop sleeve is really smartly designed. These reports aren't exaggerated- it's really well built. Even if you've got a smaller size body, the bag will look good on you.Ĭlamshell opening is a huge plus which allows you to get to your things quickly and repack if necessary. You can use it as a daily carry without turning any heads. Even with its huge interior, the space is used wisely, and the bag does not appear huge. Huge storage capacity, easily enough for a 3-day trip even if you're not trying to be minimal. Now it looks like they've just rolled both sizes into the GR1.Įven at 21L, the bag is huge. It was made back when the GR1 only came in 26L. PLEASE NOTE: I am reviewing this based on my GR0, which is now called the "GR1 21L." As far as I know, it's the same bag. It's just not as good as a lot of onebaggers would have you believe.įor anyone considering a Go Ruck to have an alternate opinion from rave reviews. Notice I said, "isn't that great." I never said it was bad, and it's not. I've just kicked the hornets' nest.īut before you downvote and flame me into oblivion, hear me out.
